In Loving Memory of Dwight Kermit Woody (“Tupie”)

Dwight Kermit Woody, affectionately known as “Tupie,” was born on May 14, 1971, in Guilford County, North Carolina. He peacefully went home to be with the Lord on July 21, 2026.

Dwight was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Joan Hinson; his stepfather, David Hinson; and his uncle, Thomas Logan.

Dwight was a devoted father, brother, uncle, and friend whose love for family was evident throughout his life. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his children: Saqqara Woody, Rahshyah Woody, Denton Woody, Chancellor Woody, Brion Fuller, Malik Logan, Tykeyan Newman, Lakenva Logan Woody, Jessica Oates,Taylor Woody, and Kristin Hadley.

He is also survived by his brothers: James Logan, Bobby Logan, David Logan, Marlon Hinson, and Angelo Hinson; his sisters: Tonya Woody, Patricia Logan, Latoya Woody, and Kanta Hinson; his special uncle, O’Dell Hinson; his devoted companion of 26 years, Angie Poteat, with whom he shared three children; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends.

A gifted mechanic, Dwight discovered his passion for automobiles at the age of 16. His love for restoring cars and solving mechanical problems led him to establish his own business. He was known for his hard work, craftsmanship, and willingness to lend a helping hand. His love for family and his dedication to his trade left a lasting impression on all who knew him.

Though Dwight has departed this earthly life, his memory, love, and legacy will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved him.
