His Life and Legacy:

Lamar Laquan Jones was born October 12, 1981 in Elizabeth, New Jersey to Venesa Jarmon and Henry Durham Jr. He was raised in Allentown, Pa by Venesa and Kevin Jarmon. He attended school throughout the Lehigh Valley. 

Lamar was the oldest and only boy out of five children, a title that came with a personality big enough to match. He was loving, caring, adventurous, and truly one of a kind. Anyone who knew Lamar knew there was never a dull moment when he was around.

In 2012 Lamar met and married Tyrah Jones and they shared three sons Mathias Singleton 18, Matthew Lamar Jones 13, and Lamar Laquan Jones Jr. 11.

Lamar separated from his wife and moved to North Carolina to be with his parents, siblings, nieces, nephews. While in North Carolina he met Nikelle Evans and together they had A’mirrah Dream Noelle Evans, 4, and Kristian Amari Nasir Evans,1.

Later in life Lamar met Elsie Pass, who remained by his side and rode with him until the Lord called him home. Lamar also opened his heart to Elsie’s daughters Miracle Zigler and A’Keyria Fountain and granddaughter Ky’Mari Williamson loving and welcoming them as part of the family. They loved spending time with Lamar and the bond they shared held a special place in his heart. 

To know Lamar was to laugh with Lamar. He was truly the comedian of the family. If you walked into a room sad, mad, or simply having a bad day, you could count on Lamar to say or do something that would have you laughing before you left. He had a special gift for lifting people’s spirits simply by being himself. 

Lamar was never short on confidence! He swore that he was a great singer, knew he was handsome, and carried himself like everyone should know it too. If you knew Lamar, then you know that he believed that he was God’s gift to the world. Looking back at the love, laughter, and memories he gave us, we can all agree that maybe he was right about that.

Lamar leaves to cherish his memory of his mother, Venesa Jarmon; his father’s Henry Durham Jr. and Kevin Jarmon; his children Mathias, Matthew, Lamar, Dream, and Kristian; and his four sisters, LaTisha Jones, Erica Hill (Lawrence), Keshawne Jarmon and probably his favorite of all of them Tylisha Jeter.

He also leaves to cherish his wife, Tyrah Jones; Kelle; his loving companion, Elsie; Miricle, Akeyria Fountain, and Ky’Mari Williamson, a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephew, extended family members and friends who love him dearly. 

Lamar was more than a son, brother, father, uncle, partner, and friend. He was laughter when things were hard, love when it was needed, and a presence you simply could not ignore.
