Obituary

Lottie Mae Wiseman was born on February 26, 1944, to June and Vertie Alston in Franklin County, NC. She departed this life on June 5, 2026, at the age of 82.

Lottie’s journey of life was one marked by love, kindness, and an enduring commitment to her family and community. She obtained her bachelor’s degree from A&T University and worked for the U.S. Postal Service for many years until her retirement in 2006. Lottie was not one to rest idly in retirement; she became a passionate flea market enthusiast, known for her keen eye for quality clothing, which she sold at her stall at The Flea.

Lottie shared a life of love and partnership with Robert "Bobby" Wiseman for almost 40 years until his passing in 2018. She was blessed with a son, Frederick, who, together with his wife Damali, gave Lottie the joy of being a grandmother to three wonderful grandchildren.

Lottie was predeceased by her parents, two sisters Clementine Graham and Joan Gaston, and her husband. She leaves to cherish her memory: her son Frederick Alston (Damali), her sisters Ethel Maerose Hayes and Queen Elizabeth Jackson, and her brothers Marvin Alston, Harry Alston, and Roger Leroy Alston. Grandchildren: Lauren, Olivia, and Nigel Alston, her niece Amatullah Proctor who she raised and loved, as well as other nieces, nephews, extended family members, and cherished friends who will miss her dearly.

Lottie will be remembered for her unwavering love, her radiant smile, and her ability to find beauty and joy in the everyday moments of life. She leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue to inspire and guide those who were fortunate to know her.
