Marsha Gail Hooper, 74, of High Point, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on July 19, 2026. A cherished mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, her loving, creative, and giving spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Born in Montclair, New Jersey, on March 21, 1952, to the late Clarence and Mary Cole, Marsha dedicated her life to her family. On July 28, 1977, she lovingly married Harold Hooper, and together they raised two amazing children, Al-Khayree Hooper and Kiana Brinson. Marsha had a unique gift for making every holiday and birthday magical. Her home was always filled with imaginative, hand-crafted decorations, and she delighted in finding fun, memorable gifts for her children and grandchildren. Anticipation for her festive displays was a beloved family tradition that her grandchildren looked forward to every year. Marsha attended Montclair public schools and graduated from high school in 1970. She studied nursing at Seton Hall University before transitioning to medical transcription training. She worked as a medical transcriptionist at Orange Memorial Hospital, followed by a dedicated career of over 30 years at Summit Medical Group prior to her retirement. Deeply rooted in her faith and community, Marsha and her late husband, Harold, were members of Elim Christian Fellowship of Greensboro, North Carolina, and she always cherished her church family and community. Marsha leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Kiana Brinson (husband, Leon) of Greensboro, NC; her son, Al-Khayree Hooper of High Point, NC; her beloved grandchildren, Zoya, Lailah, and Kylah; her sister, Sheila R. Cole of Montclair, NJ; and a host of loving cousins, extended family, and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Harold Hooper.
A funeral service honoring Marsha’s life will be held at Elim Christian Fellowship, located at 3222 Summit Ave, Greensboro, NC 27405, on July 31, 2026. Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, with the service beginning promptly at 2:00 PM. It will be a time to remember and celebrate Marsha’s enduring legacy and the countless ways she enriched the lives of others.
